TopCatnip Canadian Rough-Cut Catnip

TopCatnip is Canadian rough-cut catnip made from a blend of dried leaf and bud (Nepeta cataria). It is sourced from Canada and packed in the UK.

The rough-cut texture makes it easy to sprinkle onto toys, scratchers, beds, or play areas to encourage natural feline behaviours such as rolling, pouncing, rubbing, and play.

TopCatnip contains 100% dried catnip with no fillers or additives.

Store sealed between uses to help maintain freshness.

Please note:

Not all cats respond to catnip. Sensitivity varies, and most cats begin to respond between 3–6 months of age.

Learn More About Catnip...

Does catnip actually work for all cats?

Not all cats respond to catnip. Sensitivity is genetic, and around 30–40% of cats may show little or no reaction. Most cats that do respond will react for 10–15 minutes before losing interest temporarily.

If you’d like a deeper explanation, our Catnip Knowledge Base explains how catnip works and why reactions vary between cats.

What makes TopCatnip different from regular catnip?

TopCatnip is made from rough-cut leaf and bud, which naturally contains higher levels of nepetalactone, the compound cats respond to. Many lower-quality catnips are dusty, stem-heavy, or stale before they even reach your home.

We focus on freshness, potency, and small-batch packing rather than volume.

How often should I give my cat catnip?

Catnip is best used occasionally rather than daily. Most cats respond best when given catnip once or twice a week, allowing time for their sensitivity to reset between sessions.

Using catnip sparingly helps keep reactions strong and enjoyable.

Is catnip safe for cats?

Yes. Catnip is non-toxic and non-addictive. Most cats can enjoy it safely when used in moderation. Some cats may become overstimulated if given too much at once, which is why we recommend using small amounts.

More safety and usage guidance is available in our Catnip Knowledge Base.

How should catnip be stored to keep it fresh?

To maintain potency, catnip should be stored in a cool, dry place and kept sealed when not in use. Exposure to air, heat, and light can reduce effectiveness over time.

Our knowledge base includes storage tips and advice on how to tell when catnip has gone stale.

"This Isn't Supermarket Catnip."

Catnip can naturally lose aroma over time if not stored carefully.

Ours is packed fresh and sealed to help maintain its quality and natural scent for longer.
