Meet Zazu

Zazu is the resident observer — relaxed, thoughtful, and rarely impressed.

While some cats are all chaos and zoomies, Zazu prefers a slower pace. He’s mastered the art of doing very little, very well, and takes his role as quiet quality control seriously. New smells are inspected carefully. New toys are judged. New ideas are tolerated… eventually.

Despite his calm nature, Zazu has a soft spot for fresh, potent catnip. When the quality is right, even he can’t resist a proper roll and reset — which makes him a reliable benchmark for us. If it gets a reaction from Zazu, it’s doing something right.

Measured, composed, and quietly opinionated, Zazu keeps standards high and drama low.

Meet Nala

Nala doesn’t announce authority — she simply has it.

She runs the house with quiet confidence and very clear expectations. Routines are observed, boundaries are enforced, and disruptions are met with a look that needs no explanation. If something happens in this home, it’s usually because Nala has allowed it.

She’s selective, discerning, and not easily won over — which makes her opinion matter. When catnip meets her standards, the response is immediate and unmistakable. Focused play, purposeful movement, and complete ownership of the space usually follow.

Nala reminds us that quality isn’t about excess. It’s about getting it right the first time.

Meet Ace

Ace is always in motion.

Fast, curious, and endlessly alert, he approaches everything with enthusiasm and zero hesitation. New environments are explored immediately. New toys are attacked on sight. New smells don’t last long enough to remain mysterious.

He’s the most demanding when it comes to stimulation, which makes him an essential part of the TopCatnip test panel. If something doesn’t hold Ace’s attention, it doesn’t last. When the catnip is fresh and potent, though, it earns his full focus — pouncing, rolling, and repeat visits included.

Ace keeps us honest about one thing: enrichment has to work, not just look good.

Meet Pudge

Pudge is all about ease.

Unrushed, observant, and deeply committed to comfort, he approaches life at his own pace. Favourite spots are carefully chosen, routines are respected, and unnecessary effort is politely declined. When Pudge settles in, it’s usually for the long haul.

That slower pace makes him an important part of how we think about enrichment. Catnip isn’t just about bursts of energy — it’s also about relaxation, rolling, and contentment. When the quality is right, Pudge responds in his own way: calm engagement, gentle movement, and a very clear sense of satisfaction.

With a natural focus on care, routine, and wellbeing, she’s deeply involved in the everyday details that shape how the brand operates. From observing how our cats respond to enrichment to making sure standards are met consistently, Bex keeps things thoughtful, measured, and grounded.

She believes that quality isn’t just about sourcing or packaging — it’s about understanding cats as individuals and recognising that enrichment plays a real role in their comfort, behaviour, and happiness, especially for indoor cats.

Quietly influential and detail-driven, Bex helps ensure TopCatnip stays focused on what matters most: doing things properly, every time.

Meet Fraszer

Fraszer is the founder of TopCatnip.

The brand began with a simple frustration: too much catnip on the market didn’t live up to its promise. Inconsistent quality, stale blends, and products that looked good on the shelf but failed to deliver at home were everywhere.

Rather than accept that as normal, Fraszer focused on doing one thing properly. That meant sourcing high-grade Canadian catnip, choosing a rough-cut blend of leaf and bud, and packing it fresh to preserve potency — even if that meant taking a slower, more deliberate approach.

Hands-on by nature, Fraszer oversees every part of the process, from product decisions to how the brand presents itself. His focus is simple: build something reliable, honest, and worth coming back to.
